Why a 3 day training?

The Secondary Trauma Resiliency Training is a comprehensive approach to secondary trauma and compassion fatigue. Attendees will not be handed a standardized list of self-care tips, instead they will examine secondary trauma from a full range of perspectives and will gain valuable self-support tools unique to them. Our training changes the way care-providers process the trauma they encounter in their work. This is a powerful experiential three days. Professional effectiveness and job satisfaction will be increased. These three days give participants enough time to unwind and really get it!

Continuing Education

VitalHearts is credentialed to offer continuing education credits for nurses and Licensed Clinical Social Workers in Colorado.

The National Association of Social Workers Colorado Chapter will award 24 hours for social workers who complete the Secondary Trauma Resiliency Training.  The NASW continuing education requirement is 50 hours every two years, so our training provides nearly one year’s worth of continuing education through the three day training.

The Secondary Trauma Resiliency Training is also an approvied activity by ththe Colorado Nurses Association (CNA). Nurse participants are elligible for 24 hours of continuing nursing education credits. In some instances, these CEC may be recognized in states outside of Colorado. Please inquire with your state's nursing association if you have questions about any reciprocal agreements your state may have with CNA.

For many professions, what we have learned is if participants to the training submit two items – the Agenda and Unit Objectives page (from the workbook) plus the Certificate of Achievement (provided at the end of the training), some regulatory offices are accepting the Secondary Trauma Resiliency Training as a continuing education experience.
